Great Rivers Biennial Finalists

Happy Monday, TechArtista!

This week we are excited to announce that one of our featured artists, Edo Rosenblith, has been selected as a finalist for the Great Rivers Biennial. The competitive program is presented by the Contemporary Art Museum and the Gateway Foundation and identifies talented emerging artists working in the greater St. Louis metro area. Up to three winners are selected and provided with financial assistance, and promotion that elevates their profile across the Midwest and national arts communities. In addition, the artists receive $20,000 each and get featured in the next Great Rivers Biennial exhibition at CAM in summer 2018.

At TechArtista, Edo Rosenblith has completed a signature mural on the third floor titled "Supper Club" that stretches the length of the wall. In Supper Club, Rosenblith presents a kind of Bizarro World version of Da Vinci’s Last Supper and Norman Rockwell’s Thanksgiving tableau, Freedom from Want. Yet, instead of creating an image of salvation, Rosenblith creates one filled with figures that are both totally invented and based on figures from art history, contemporary pop-culture and Rosenblith’s own family and friends. These figures surround a fourteen-foot long table, which is covered in a cornucopia-like feast.

We are incredibly fortunate to work with great artists such as Edo and are consistently looking for ways to elevate local talent through our space. For a chance to meet artists from our current exhibition, Burning Bright, visit our closing reception on Friday evening.

As always, have a great week!
