Make it Your Own

"Great things are done by a series of smaller things brought together. It's not where you take things from, it's where you take them to. Those who do not want to imitate, produce nothing."

I read the quote above and started thinking about the awesome influence people, models, and solutions have had on the most spectacular careers. The creative process is a tricky one. It gives us both the freedom to steal ideas, while at the same time forming original ones.

To realize a world class vision for St. Louis, something within grasp, we'll need to import... ideas, people, products, and services... and make them our own. The newly opened Fashion Incubator with six diverse designers, and a Colombian couple relocating with an Arch Grant, are prime examples here. These groups are building a foundation in the context of St. Louis. They are creating original experiences.

One concept that recently caught our attention is Zoku, a short and long term stay hotel in Amsterdam. It has great design. We're curious, what are some of your favorite concepts that could have St. Louis flavor? Have a great week!
