The Startup Experience
Hey, everyone! My name is Tony Gunn Jr. and I am finishing up my summer internship here at TechArtista. I wanted to write this post to give you all a little insight into what I have been doing here, other than typing away at the front desk.
Soaking it all in
One of my main focuses here at TechArtista is to just soak in all the knowledge that has been available, analyze that information for myself, and translate it into something that is relevant and beneficial to what I’m trying, no GOING, to accomplish! I’m very pleased to have been selected for this internship here because it was a perfect fit with my character. I’ve had an entrepreneurial mindset since the 8th grade, when I set about publishing my first book. I have always been interested and involved in starting creative business concepts. From selling candy to logo designing to writing books, I love the energy these types of ventures give me and creative possibilities that flourish from them.
Building on a dream
My second focus is executing my current business concept. I’ve been honored to work side-by-side with Max Rava, TechArtista’s Strategic Adviser, which has allowed me to really focus on taking my idea. Looking at it from both a realistic and strategic point of view has helped narrow my vision, and figure out the BIG question, “What’s Next?” This all has been a vital addition to my experience and I certainly look forward to applying what I have learned here to what I will do in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled for ImproveStu. Its business objective is to improve student life, and we are starting with improved transportation.
My take away
Overall, every minute I’ve spent here at TechArtista has been a great experience. It’s allowed me to meet and talk to a wide range of people; from those just getting started in the business world to entrepreneurs who have sold programs/businesses for millions. If you are looking for a coworking space with an innovative and bootstrapping culture, you should definitely get in touch with Mia, the Community Manager.
I’m a firm believer in establishing connections, but I’m even more focused on nurturing those relationships. Plan to see me back visiting when I’m home from college!
